HotScreen®
HotScreen® screens are used for printing of “HotMelt“ pastes
and for applications in photovoltaic.
These
screens were specifically developed for
solar cell electroplating, for the printing
of glass surfaces and other thick film silver procedures requiring
high application levels of conductor track. The fundamental thought
process behind this new technology is
to save on the drying process.
KOENEN’s patented HotScreen® is
a highly accurate, emulsion coated precision screen based
on combination screen technology, and
which is connected to a power source via two connections. The temperature
can be regulated with precision in the range of 30-100°C.
Worknest
and squeegee in the printing machine
must likewise be heated. Printing characteristics are the same as for
standard screens.
When screen printing the paste onto the substrate,
it fuses as soon as it makes contact with the substrate. In this way
any spill over is reduced virtually 100 percent.
Characteristics of HotScreen®
- Multiple printing without intermediate drying
- High-definition printing
- Precision temperature control 30°C-100°C
- Homogenous printing pattern due to the even temperature distribution over the entire printing area.
- Long service lives and low change of screen tension when heating the fabric through the trampoline effect
- Low printing paste flow characteristics as well as higher layer strengths compared with standard printing pasts
- Finger widths from 30 µm possible
