Screen Coatings
Light-sensitive films and emulsions are used for coating.
It
is differentiated between:
Direct coating:
A photo-sensitive liquid emulsion is directly applied to the fabric using a coating system.| Emulsion: | 0-60 µm thickness on the fabric |
| Thickness tolerance: | ± 1 µm |
Highly soluble direct coating:
Direct coating using high-resolution emulsion or film coating for fine line printing.| Minimum line widths: | Line/space 20/20 µm, water resistant |
| Emulsion: | 0-60 µm thickness on the fabric |
| Thickness tolerance: | ± 1 µm |
Direct-indirect coating:
The screen printing film is laminated onto the fabric using an emulsion.| Screen printing film thickness: | 5-80 µm |
| Solvent resistant: | 10-400 µm (film thickness) |
| Solvent and water resistant: | 20-70 µm (film thickness) |
| Thickness tolerance: | ± 1 µm |
Capillary coating:
The screen printing film is placed on the fabric, which has been wetted with water.| Thickness tolerance: | ± 1 µm. |
In comparison: Film and emulsion coating
Screen with direct-indirect coating
The film coating has a rougher surface
also on the inner edges. The print
shoulder is rounded.
Screen with emulsion coating
Optimal structured screen. The coating edges are smooth, the mesh openings clear and the wires clean. Subsequently optimum paste release can be achieved.
